circuit breaker

The purpose of circuit breakers is to detect if the flow in one line is more. They ACT when they see that a wire is carrying too much electric current. The circuit breaker "trips," i.e. cuts the flow of electricity to that particular circuit. This prevents your house wiring from overheating. Those wires might be prone to catch fire if they reach a certain temperature, which is why we have something called circuit breakers.

In short, to know how circuit breakers stay in a relationship with your electricity you should first take note of some things about electricity and stuff. Electricity is a peculiar energy that hails from power plants. It flows through wires and provides electricity for all of the electrical equipment in our homes, such as lights, televisions and fridges.

Understanding the Inner Workings of Circuit Breakers

The wires also have circuit breakers that are meant to keep track of how much electricity is going through the wire. A bimetallic strip is, in fact, one of the special parts that they have. If the strip is carrying more electricity than it's supposed to, it starts getting hot. That bending heats up the strip, and when it gets hot enough to bend all the way over -- WHAM! When you trip the switch, it stops providing electricity and in that way avoids any danger.

Besides protecting against fires, circuit breakers also provide protection for your appliances and electronics from power spikes (such as in a surge) that could ruin them. Circuit breakers tripped due to rapid increase in electrical current, protecting your appliances from faults and ensuring their functionality. This makes it apparent that circuit breakers are not only much needed in safety aspect, but also they keep running your favourite gadgets fine and well.
